Fabulous Floral Fencing

Fencing at Brunel Field has been turned into a fabulous gallery of art and greenery. Children and parents stayed after school to recycle milk cartons into plant containers, try out craft activities, swap bikes and eat cake. Many thanks to the Undercover Rock, The Boston Tea Party and Craftworks for their support of this event.

Following the Safe and Wild art competition every entry was laminated and displayed on the fence to be admired by visitors, residents and school members. Alongside the school's Walk to School Week it was a great way to celebrate Bristol's Big Green week.

Lots of families have bikes they don't use and the APE Project http://apeproject.co.uk provides a brilliant opportunity to refurbish them and pass them on to new owners.

The school's work on sustainability is well known and for many years we have held the Green Flag Eco-Schools award. Local people are also working hard to improve the safety and appearance of the local environment and have set up The Living Room Project to co-ordinate their activities. Working together during Big Green Week highlighted how much we can achieve together. Anyone interested in finding out more about The Living Room Project can visit the website http://livingroomproject.org.uk .
