Our enquiry question for term 5 is ‘What grows in our garden?
Tadpoles: We would like the children to observe frogspawn/ tadpole development, which will link to their English and Science learning this term. Do you have any in a pond?
Please see Mrs Davis/ Miss Walshe. We will return the froglets to you once they have developed.
Plants: We would like to reinvigorate our planting bed/s. If you have any spare flowering plants you could donate please bring them in at the start of term 5. Also any spare bags of compost would be useful.
Home learning: We would like to give the children the opportunity to start thinking over the holidays and to bring in a piece of learning about your favourite animal. This could be a mammal, amphibian, insect, fish, bird etc. It could be a Powerpoint, booklet, list, labelled picture, artwork…..Please bring in during the first week back.
Phonics: The children have been working really hard learning the letter combinations that make different sounds. These are in the middle of their reading diary. Please practise these each time you read.
PE: This tends to take place outdoors as much as possible during term 5 and 6 so please provide a change of shoes ie daps or trainers alongside the usual PE kit and sweatshirt.
Reading: Please continue to support your child with regular reading at home practise whenever possible.
Keywords: A reminder to continue to practise spelling these. When your child adds their name to the list on the classroom door they will be checked at some point during the next week by Miss Chapman.
Spring Welly Walk: Thursday 26th April during the afternoon. Please see your class teacher if you can help.
Tissues and snacks: Please keep the donations coming in.
Please see your child’s teacher if you have any talents relating to this enquiry project or you can help in class at all.
