Term 2

Bottle Rocket Launch!

To celebrate all the children’s hard work this term, we’ve decided to launch an ADSF mission to the moon! The children will be building rockets out of 2L bottles in the first few days of term 2 (please send as many 2L bottles in by Friday 20th October). Children will be working in pairs and may wish to bring other resources from home to add to their creations! The launch will take place on Thursday 2nd November at our top secret launch site (Horfield Common). We plan on leaving school at 9:15 a.m., launching the rockets, playing football and rounders and then returning to school around 12.00 pm for lunch. (weather dependant).

This is a great celebration at the end of term and it’s lovely to have as many helpers/spectators as possible. So please do join us and watch the rockets blast off (covering the teachers in a spray of water, glitter, ketchup and worse!). The more the merrier!

Term 1

100 Book Challenge

Year 6 are attempting the 100 Book Challenge. We have a list of 100 books that we would like to read during the year. This will be done independently and as part of group / class reading sessions. If you have any of these books at home and would be willing to donate them to year 6, we would really appreciate it. Please could these be sent into school with your child, and given to a member of the year 6 team. List of books can be found below:
