Wellbeing in School
Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PHSE)
Every week each class has a PHSE lesson using a programme called Jigsaw. Jigsaw brings together Personal, Social, Health and Economic education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development. Jigsaw is a whole school approach, with every child exploring the same theme each term in an age appropriate way. Each theme is launched with an assembly and weekly achievements are celebrated with certificates coming home.
The themes are as follows:
- Term 1: Being Me in My World
- Term 2: Celebrating Difference
- Term 3: Dreams and Goals
- Term 4: Healthy Me
- Term 5: Relationships
- Term 6: Changing Me
If you would like to find out more please speak to your child's class teacher or to Laura Bliss, PHSE Co-ordinator (Ashley Down Year 2 Teacher).
