School Uniform
Ashley Down is a school uniform school. Our uniform helps us show that we all belong together. It reminds us of our school values, which are written on our school logo.
Our only item with a school logo is our jumper/cardigan/fleece. All other items of uniform can be bought relatively cheaply from a large supermarket. Jumper/cardigan/fleece and school book bags for Key Stage 1 are sold by Boca Teamwear (click here to see our club shop). The school office also sells iron on school logos for £1.10, which you can iron on to a plain dark green jumper or cardigan. We have been told by families that the fleeces come up small, so you will need to order a size larger than you would otherwise. For example, an average size 9 year old should order an age 12 rather than an age 10.
The PSA collect and sell second hand uniform. The school office can put parents in contact with the PSA uniform rep.
Please could jumpers/cardigans/fleeces be named clearly inside the neck so lost property can be returned to the owner. During the week, lost property is taken to the school office so you can come and look for missing items there. Each week's unclaimed lost property is put out in the gazebo in the bottom playground after school on Friday, and before school on Monday. We then clear lost property each Monday. Here is a link to labels which can be stuck into clothes without ironing or sewing, and also onto water bottles. Buying labels through Stickins also raises money for the school (use School Fundraised Code 876, our PSA will receive 30% commission on every sale).
Items of Uniform

Dark green jumper, cardigan or fleece with school logo can be purchased from Boca Teamwear. You can buy a plain jumper or cardigan from a supermarket and iron on a school logo. We sell iron on logos at the school office.
Plain grey or black trousers, skirt or pinafore dress, shorts or leggings. Trousers/shorts should be a tailored fit e.g. no jogging bottoms or sports shorts(except as part of PE kit). Skirts and dresses should be of an appropriate length. Black jeans are not permitted. |

White polo shirt (with or without school logo). Shirt must have a collar e.g. no t-shirts |

Plain grey or black tights, or plain grey, black or white socks.

Black shoes, black trainers or black boots. Footwear should be flat e.g. no heels and no heelies. Footwear must have a back and closed toes. Boots should be flat and ankle height.
Socks or tights must be worn.

Optional Items
Children may also wear plain head coverings in neutral colours for religious purposes (e.g., hijabs) and long-sleeved tops under polo shirts and leggings under skirts or dresses. These must be plain and in black, grey, or white.
